  1. This is the most amazing hotel I stayed in when in Vietnam, we went to Hanoi, Hoi An, Nha Trang and Saigon, and this was the best. in fact it is the best i have stayed in out of about 40 hotels

  2. “If you are in a flood, Essence is the place to be”

We had to cut our trip short due to flooding in Hoi An. If you ever have to be in a flood, Essence Hoi An & Spa is where you want to be. Because we couldn't stay, the staff was amazing in helping us rearrange our flight schedule and keeping everyone calm. They scheduled water taxi's for tour groups, families, couples and individuals. Once on dry land, transportation was waiting for each and every one to take them to either another hotel or the airport.

The rooms were new and clean. The staff was thorough in welcoming us and giving us a tour of the hotel. The passion fruit juice we were given was delightful.

While we were unable to eat food there, what we saw the night before the flood, the food looked delicious and in the morning, the restaurant stayed opened as long as it could before the kitchen was forced to close due to electricity going out.

We will definitely return to Essence on our next trip out. Unfortunately, my Mom left her diary in the room, but hopefully after the floods recede and things get back to normal, the hotel will be able to return it to us.

  3. Perfect hotel

This hotel is a very special place in Hoi An. Just 5 mins up the hill from the old town the hotel is gorgeous. Lovely rooms. Nice touches on arrival like a drink and fruit bowl. Lovely pool. Spotless. The breakfast is something special. But what stands out even more than all these posts I Nat is the attitude of the staff. Super friendly, super helpful, totally knowledgeable and intelligent. They are just wonderful and really go out of their way to help and organise events for you. Just a really really wonderful place to stay. I could have stayed there for months.

  4. We were moved here due to the impending visit of Typhoon Haiyan which subsequently headed further north so fortunatley it missed us. The hotel is fairly new and only opened 8 months ago. The room was an excellent standard with view over the paddy fields and mountains in the distance. It is only a short walk from the river about 10-15 mins. The staff at the hotel are excellent they are pleasant and nothing is too much trouble for them. There is a small pool that is more than adequate if you wish to laze around however as there is more than enough to do in Hoi An we only spent a couple of hours around the pool. Breakfast offers a range to suit all tastes including freshly cooked omlets or pancakes.
