  1. If this were in a game, one of two things would happen:
    1. Congratulations! You just broke the speed barrier!
    2. WHY DID YOU BREAK THE SPEED BARRIER??!?!!??!?!?!?! I CHALLENGE YOU TO A RACE AGAINST USAIN BOLT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. NOT THE FIRST.
Craig Breedlove did it decades ago in the Spirit of America rocket car.

It was recognized and recorded as the first supersonic drive based on the measuring equipment and standards that were in use at that time, the same equipment and standards that were used to record speed records for supersonic aircraft that still stand.

The Thrust SSC wasn't the first as the team claims; they took advantage of the way changes in the speed of sound are measured at ground level. But the speed of sound hasn't changed, and Breedlove was the first to go faster.

  3. Andy Green is the right guy for this job and easy to see he's a military pilot……talks like one and reacts like one. No messing about, no small talk and no pretentious boasts.

  4. Stan Barrett went 739 MPH in the Budweiser Rocket Car In 1979, He was denied the record because it had three wheels. This is the exact same car backward with an extra wheel. Supersonic was achieved in 1979 by an American.
