  1. so we booked our 16 foot truck for the move. sold most our furniture and got rid of a lot of stuff. moving all we are keeping to one area, my wife says "are you sure you didn't want a 22 footer. if it doesn't fit, it don't ship. get ready to dump stuff in that big blue bin next to the house" it's gonna be tight. I think I can get it all into a 16 footer (except what has to go in my wife's car to protect against heat). only a week to go before the move, and we still have to pack the kitchen cabinets.

  2. Just like you, we downsized from Boston to Boca Raton. I agree with you, Packrat is the way to go. I still got rid of a ton of stuff! Every year, I get rid of more. Unfortunately, can't find many BnBs when we go to visit Boston.

  3. Oh, how frustrating! After all that research and you were so careful about packing things away, you still got bitten by that fact of life that's universal. There will always be factors we can't control. πŸ˜›

I know when we moved from an apartment complex to the apartment we live in now we had to wash every stitch we owned because everything stank like cigarette smoke, despite the fact that neither of us smoke. One of the main reasons we had to move from that place was EVERYBODY smoked like a chimney there. It was insane and we couldn't take it long term. Shame, really, because I liked that shabby old apartment.

I know I've traveled more than enough to appreciate the liberating feeling of not having to worry about any stuff beyond a personal bag and a carry-on suitcase.

Speaking of lizards, did you hear the news story out of Tampa about the Tegu lizards getting more numerous? Apparently they're big enough to put a child in the hospital and eat household cats. Crazy stuff.

  4. wow you have the dream girl!! It looks soooo amazing in there! Super cool video thank you for sharing with us:) Me and my boyfriend are also traveling and at the moment based in Bangkok and started a channel πŸ™‚ we just posted a video about Bangkok and we want to travel to South of Thailand next week πŸ™‚ liked and subscribed πŸ˜€ feel free to check out my channel!
PS: is out of topic but i love your hair color!

  5. Omg. HOW GORGEOUS. Wow. That's a great place to live for a month! πŸ™‚
Do you think those bags that you suck the air out of and stuff clothes and blankets in would work? They're not that expensive, but I've heard it depends on the brand you get too. I don't know if bags will keep smells out?? Hmm…
I had to put the heat on again here in NJ. I could cry lol. It was 60 degrees in the house this morning. I turned on the heat and my beagle made a B-Line for the radiator and laid down right next to it. Poor thing was cold! haha. We are getting TONS of rain and wind (of course on trash day so I had to chase my cans down the street lol) and colder weather for the next week. They say our high today is 66, but I don't think so. It's still only 55 right now at 1pm. Sigh. I thought about you guys in FL in the WARMTH while I drove the dogs to the vet and was incredibly jealous! haha. πŸ™‚

  6. Lovely place you have! More importantly, you look so much more relaxed and happy! Your pineapple looks awesome. If I may add because the pot is so close to home structure, be on the look for fruit rat droppings. Those rats can climb and love attic environment and attic insulation. Also, never used a storage facility before but friends five years ago used an outdoor one for one week here and upon opening the door, we were all shocked and frighten with the amount of spiders and roaches. A good question would be to ask/confirm pest control and possibly add non-toxic product to unit as an option. Sorry to hear your belongings have smells to them. Do climate control units have separate temps you can control and or share same ventilation system like most apartments complexes? Certainty lots of questions because of info you share and will help us all in our journey. Our experience when storing and transporting a musical instrument (grand piano) or any instrument of value both personally and monetary is to hire a reputable music dealer that specializes in packing, climate control in storage if need be and specialized in transporting local or nationwide. Another great vid, certainly full of info along with enlightening ideas or questions of how to move forward in another/alternative way… A wonderFULL day your way~ πŸ‘

  7. melody, since you are staying near that west (sunset) facing beach for a month, maybe you and rick could capture a phenomenon called a green flash and show your viewers. it happens during sunset, literally moments before the last sliver of sun sinks behind the horizon. a green flash of light can be seen. heres what to look for https://youtu.be/mxTLzAToXfo

  8. Very menacing clouds up here. Last night the skies opened and dumped buckets. But then stopped after 30 minutes. We need the rain. The fires are scary. Beautiful beach. Something about listening to those waves. Captivating.
    Thanks for sharing

  9. 8:37….I love how you beckoned us to join you on the beach….so thrilling to see the sunset no matter how many times I see it!!!!!! I am looking forward to the sunsets from your travels all over…..so exciting!!!!!
Fresh herbs make everything so much better!! Basil, thyme and cilantro are my favorite and use the most. I should use more parsley.
Ric's pictures are amazingly beautiful, he really captures the essence of a moment in time!!! I just bought a cannon G6 at a pawn shop for 40. yesterday. I am happy with it. I still can't figure out how to get my pictures on my phone to go on the sd card. So now at least I can return to doing video's. Thank you so much for the shout out!!! I so very much appreciate it!!!
I wear a size 10 shoe also, and it is funny how a shoe can look so cute in a size 7……lolololol and then here comes the size 10 lolol. I have always said that my big feet give me great balance lolololol.
OH those storm clouds, really enjoyed! Thumbs UP my wonderful friend!!! xoxoxo
